Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend API Engineer to join our team and lead the development and maintenance of robust and scalable backend APIs. As a Senior Backend API Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing APIs that power our applications and services. This role requires strong technical expertise, architectural skills, and a deep understanding of backend development and API design principles.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend APIs to support our applications and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into API designs.
- Implement API functionality using best practices and industry standards.
- Optimize API performance and scalability for high-traffic environments.
- Ensure the security and integrity of APIs, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to API functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in backend development and API design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in backend API development, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable solutions.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Proficiency in API design principles, RESTful architecture, and API documentation.
- Experience with backend frameworks and technologies, such as Spring Boot, Django, or Express.js.
- Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and deploying APIs in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with API security standards, such as OAuth or JWT.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
