We are looking for a Experienced Backend Engineer to join our NIQ Activate technology team in Yokne'am Illit, Israel. This is a hybrid work environment with the expectation of being in the office 2-3 days a week.

Serving dozens of retailers and brands across the world using cutting-edge big data, real-time analytics, and data-science automation. As an Experienced Backend Engineer, you will be building new product solutions for our rapidly expanding customer base, working with the top server-side technologies in an open, collaborative, and innovative environment with a team of amazing, diverse-minded, and bright people. You will directly work with and have exposure to a variety of tools and technologies including Java, Python, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases, and Cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Implement micro-services from design to production.
- Own the development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, and operations of the team, with containerized API services.
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, and deployment.
- Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features/components.
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design.
- Work with a small, cross-functional team on products and features to drive growth.
- Learn new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies to grow.
- Research and suggest new technologies for boosting the product.
- Have an impact on product development by making important technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices, and more.
- 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java and Spring Boot.
- Expertise with large-scale SQL (Postgre and/or SingleStore) and NoSQL databases.
- Highly skilled in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with software development best practices, including OOP, design patterns, and testing methodologies (unit-testing, TDD, mocking).
- Experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with Agile development, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analysis abilities.
- Strong English and Hebrew communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable with a hybrid work environment and being in the office 2-3 days a week.
- B.Sc. in Computer Sciences or similar.
